ManKind
In the wake of Sarah Everard’s death in 2021, the issue of women’s safety and violence against women has been brought to the forefront. I was tasked with creating a campaign that addresses these issues to build a safer society. Tackling gender-based violence must not start with the victims, but instead it should go to the root of the problem. There is no one way of being a man, however a lot of young men and boys face pressures to behave in certain ways which can be harmful to their physcal health and mental wellbeing. At its worst, these harmful behaviours can lead to suicides, violence, abuse and deaths of both other men and women. I created a campaign that partners Beyond Equality and Shout 85258 and seeks to ease the pressures young men and boys can face, spark conversations and support their mental health, as one step towards shaping wider societal change and gender equalities in the long-run.
